At Westfield Health, we are passionate about making a positive difference to the people and communities around us. We have no shareholders, so as we continue to grow as a business, we can give back even more.
Corporate Social Responsibility is embedded into our company culture. This is reflected in the ways we volunteer, support and donate to many wonderful causes. Across the 2024/25 financial year, Westfield Health have given back the equivalent of £1,071,205.
Here’s the range of ways we’ve made this possible:
Westfield Health Volunteering
We actively promote volunteering as part of our company culture. There is no limit to volunteer days our people can take. This includes individual volunteering, corporate team volunteer days and supporting partnership events.
We are proud to have 545 hours of volunteering this financial year from our amazing colleagues. This equates to a social value of over £9,000!

The Westfield One Movement Committee
Through our ‘Westfield One Movement Committee’ we identify ways to partner with different meaningful causes. This allows us to strategically deliver a healthy difference to people around us and beyond.
The Committee donated to the following causes this year:
- The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. We funded a fourth year of their ‘On Track to Achieve’ programme where athlete mentors work with young people to transform their mental and physical wellbeing.
- The Stocksbridge Park Steels FC. We supported in the creation of their Women’s Football Team through funding.
- The Sheffield 1000. They fund local community causes with a Sheffield postcode, and we supported them in a corporate match funding initiative.
- The Sheffield United Community Foundation. We helped fund the ‘Health Fans, Healthy Futures initiative, that supports people directly or indirectly affected by various physical and mental health conditions.
- The Sheffield Hatters. We supported their Community Support Project to help build strong role models in our community.
- Age UK Sheffield – We funded their free Information & Advice Line that offers a confidential service for people aged over 50, their families and carers.
The Giving Back Committee
Our colleague-led Committee have their own budget and make one-off donations to charities and other causes. In the last 12 months, we have donated £180,032 across 72 different causes.
Our breakdown of causes includes:
- 14% of donations went to causes that support children
- 11% of donations went to causes that support mental health
- 8% of donations went to causes involving sport
Some of our causes include:
We funded their girls football project – enabling young girls to participate in a girls’ team with a female coach.
This donation was used for 12 bed bundles so that the most vulnerable children and young people have access to a bed of their own.
Our donation helped create 30 new lifelong friendships between isolated older neighbours and volunteer befrienders, who visit their home once a week.
Donation spotlight
We made a donation to Endometriosis UK. This went towards their new endometriosis symptom checker service on their website, to support and advise women who suspect they may have endometriosis.

Offering free office space
Our Westfield House Sheffield HQ office space and meeting rooms have been used for free. We supported eight local causes and charities with use of our space. This allows them to do things they would otherwise not have budget for, including meeting space, events, support days and filming.
Throughout the year this totalled 454.5 hours, saving these causes £9,090.
“We do not have adequate desk space for all our staff. Westfield Health’s support of us with a consistent office space free of charge allows the fundraising team time and space to work collaboratively to ensure our charity continues to receive consistent funding.”

Grassroots Sports Teams
This year, we launched a new initiative where colleagues can apply for funding for grassroots sports teams. With the aim of encouraging more young people to get more involved in sporting activities, we donate new sports kits to children’s teams.
We have supported:
- Mansfield Rugby Club – Under 13s boys rugby team
- The Ridgeway Lionesses – Under 7s girls football team
- Arnold Eagles Tornadoes – Under 13s girls football team
Chairs Fund
This fund is used for a whole host of events and donations. This includes charity dinners, events, sponsorships, auction prizes and defibrillator units.
This year we sponsored the first South Yorkshire Child Poverty Summit through Save The Children UK. They pledge to make sure children are kept safe, healthy and learning, with the Summit an opportunity to spotlight sustainable solutions which aim to address child poverty in and beyond the region.

Defibrillators
A defibrillator is a device that can save lives. It helps get the heart beating again when someone is in cardiac arrest or if the heart has stopped. We order and fund defibrillators for sites in need.
We donated seven defibrillator units to local sites. They identified that there was a need in their area:
- Penny Brohn UK
- Hillsborough Social Club
- The Cross Scythes Pub
- The New Inn Gleadless
- The White Lion
- Sheffield Foyer
- Bamford Tennis Club
